A man once asked President Abraham Lincoln to appoint a certain man to a cabinet post. Lincoln said he didn't believe he could do that because the man didn't have a good face. "With all do respect," the man said, "the man had no choice in the matter; he cannot help the way he looks." Lincoln replied, "If a person is over forty they're responsible for their face."
Lincoln was telling the man that our attitude about life shows on hour face. One reason people go through life looking for all the world like they were weaned on a pickle - is because of ingratitude; might be a good idea to make a list of all hour blessings.
People miss promotions every day because they tramp through life with a hangdog look that tells people life has beaten them.
