IS THERE A CONNECTION BETWEEN ANCIENT EGYPT AND OUR WORLD TODAY?

IS THERE A CONNECTION BETWEEN ANCIENT EGYPT AND OUR WORLD TODAY?

Might there be a correlation between the signs sent to Pharaoh of ancient Egypt, regarding letting the Hebrew slaves go free, and the fires, floods, destructive hurricanes and tragic events of the world today?

Each new sign sent to Pharaoh was more intense than the preceding one. Finally, because of Pharaoh’s stiff-necked stubbornness, God showed his burning anger by visiting death to the first born of every family in Egypt – including Pharaoh’s son – and even to the first born of every animal.

God will not be mocked. Because the United States is one of only seven nations allowing abortion past the 20-week mark, not to mention 58 million children losing their lives since Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, are we provoking God’s wrath; are we soon to be called upon the scales to be found wanting?

Compound this with the flaunting of morality, especially in the unnaturalness of homosexuality, where lust is unrestrained; men burning for men, and women for women. Are our sins bringing retribution down upon our own heads? Is God, in fact, lifting his protective hand from our nation, the most favoured nation in history.

The thinking that life is a game; that freedom from restraint is the ultimate objective, reminds me of a boat full of carefree partygoers, floating down a river enjoying a lazy sunny afternoon sipping their mint julips and listening to a Mariachi band, totally oblivious to a roaring falls just ahead.
